Somme 110th Anniversary Dinner

July 26 marks 110 years since the first day of the Battle of the Somme — a moment of great significance in our nation’s history.
To honour this important anniversary, Salisbury Branch of the Royal British Legion and the Salisbury & Amesbury Armed Forces Veterans Breakfast Club are delighted to invite you to a special evening at the Mercure Salisbury White Hart Hotel.
Join us for a relaxed and friendly evening of remembrance, good food, and great company. We are especially pleased to welcome the Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Wiltshire and the Mayor of Salisbury as our VIP guests.
The Evening at a Glance
Arrive from 7.00 pm and enjoy a drink in the bar before we move through to the Dining Room at 7.30 pm to begin the evening together.
Dress
We’d love guests to dress for the occasion — Black Tie, suit and tie, or smart equivalent, with miniature medals if you wish.
Seating & Atmosphere
You’ll be seated at tables of 8, making it a great opportunity to meet others and enjoy the evening together. The room will be thoughtfully set, with gentle background music to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Food & Drink
Enjoy a 3-course dinner, followed by coffee and chocolates.
You’ll be able to choose from four options per course, including a vegetarian choice for each.
Wine and soft drinks will be available on the tables, with port served to round off the evening.
