Does your GP know you are a Veteran?

  • by

There have been many social media posts about ensuring your GP has a special reference number to identify you as veteran or a carer of a veteran.  The reference numbers are many and varied and not important.  What is important is that you ensure your GP knows you have served.

Once the surgery has added the number to you record it identifies you as veteran and enables them to  refer you to veteran specific services if required.

Defence Medical Welfare Service are working with GP surgeries to ensure they identify veterans, so next time you speak to your GP let them know you are veteran or carer of one.
