I trust we are all looking forward to the upcoming Burns Night. It sure promises to be an enjoyable evening filled with music, verse and Highland dancing. Before I delve into some administrative details regarding the evening, there are a few individuals who have yet to make payment for the event. Could you please ensure that payment is made within the next few days?

In addition to the entertainment there is a serious side to the evening, and that is to raise money for our designated charity. Last year some of you may remember, we raised a staggering £1040 for Erskine House, who look after our ‘in need’ Scottish Veterans. This year we are going to split the money raised, between two fantastic local charities:

‘Naomi House & Jacksplace’ – who provide individualised care and much needed respite for life limited and life threatened children and young Adults.

Salisbury Hospice’ – who provide high-quality, specialist care and support for local people facing terminal and advanced, progressive illness.

Raffle tickets will be on sale throughout the evening, please dig deep and let’s see if we can get close to last year’s total.

Raffle prizes:  If anyone has anything they deem suitable for the raffle, please contact me by DM and I’ll coordinate the collection.  In addition to the raffle we will have a bit of fun with ‘Heads and Tails’ please make sure you bring along a £1.00 coin to partake.

There will be a name card on your table identifying your seat position and menu choice. Please ensure your menu choices are accessible to the waiters/waitresses for ease of serving.

Ceilidh (Highland Dancing):  After the Raffle we will be piped out of the function room to the bar area, where Coffee and Chocolates will be available. This will allow the hotel staff to set up the room for the Ceilidh.  We have an excellent caller in ‘Wendy Mumford’ who will have us dancing to a few well-known Highland Reels, in no time. Let’s ‘Dashing White Sergeant’ the night Away.  If there are any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me and we look forward to seeing you all with your dancing shoes on, this Saturday night.
