Novembers Sunday Lunch will move to a week earlier than normal to commemorate Armistice Day.  It is fitting we come together as a group to dine and remember.  Previous years has seen serperate groups gather in different venues around the city to do a similar thing.

This year we are attempting to unite the club at a post parade Sunday lunch in the White Hart for all members of the AFVBC and partners to attend.

This 3 course meal will be accompanied with wine and port (for toasting), non drinkers will be adequately supplied with soft drinks at the same price.

This lunch represents a unique opportunity for all veterans to come together under one roof to remember friends and relatives who are no longer with us.

Please follow this link to make your menu choices and pay.  Your payment is refundable up-to 04 November 2025.

FAQs

Sunday Lunch 09 November – Armistice Day

Who can attend the lunch?

ALL members, partners and their friends of the Salisbury & Amesbury AFVBC

Why can’t we bring our own wine?

Two reasons.  Firstly, seeing veterans wandering around Salisbury on Remembrance Sunday with bottles of wine doesn’t paint a very good picture of us.  Secondly, it’s simply a matter of logistics, what do you do with your wine whilst you are marching?

I’m not drinking why am I paying the same as someone who is drinking alcohol?

Only a small amount of £35 is paying for wine and port, non-drinkers will have adequate soft drinks to the same value

 Is there a seating plan

No, you can sit with whoever you want, the plan is to seat everyone round one long table

Why is the Sunday Lunch being brought forward?

Two reasons.  Firstly, having two lunches on consecutive Sundays, was considered to be an unnecessary financial burden on the membership.  Secondly, it is appropriate that we come together as club to dine and remember on Remembrance Sunday

 What is the dress?

Wear whatever you were marching or spectating in

Is this a formal Lunch with speeches etc

Nope! Is a very informal lunch bringing the membership together on a day where the most important people are the fallen.

 Will there by VIP guests?

Absolutely not! Everyone attending will be a paying guest.
