Gathering of The Clans
Burns Supper – 24 January 2026
Firstly, my apologies for the short notice of this function. I have been awaiting confirmation as to whether we would have a sponsored table at the event, as this significantly helps with costs and, in turn, keeps ticket prices as low as possible.
I trust you all had a wonderful festive season. Those who attended the Christmas Ball certainly did, following yet another fantastic event organised by Karen Langley and her Merry Elves.
I am delighted to announce our Annual Charity Burns Supper, which will be held at the White Hart Hotel, Salisbury, on Saturday 24 January 2026. This will be an evening of verse, music, and dance to celebrate and remember the life and works of the great Scottish Bard, Robert Burns. For new members, or for anyone who has never experienced a Burns Night, please do come along, it is always a hugely enjoyable and well-received evening.
Entertainment
The evening’s entertainment will be provided by our very own piper, Liv McLennan, accompanied by Wendy Mumford, calling the Highland Dancing. We are also hoping to include a few additional entertainment surprises during the night.
As many of you will know, it has always been our intention to open this event to the wider Salisbury community, helping to promote and bolster our Club locally. That said, it wouldn’t be right for our Club to subsidise the event, as they do with other internal functions, and all costs will therefore be borne by those attending.
Menu
The White Hart has once again put together a tempting menu with a strong Scottish flavour. Please select your menu choice when registering.
- For those who are not fond of haggis, the Chicken option can be served without it.
- For our vegetarian guests, Rumbledethumps with Roasted Vegetables and Herb Dressing will be available, which sounds rather delightful.
Dress Code
Formal, with a strong hint of tartan.
- Laddies: DJ or suit
- Lassies: Long or cocktail dress
- Miniature medals may be worn at your discretion (preferred where applicable).
Costs
- Food & Entertainment: £44.60 per head
(A small increase this year, which covers both catering and entertainment.)
- Wine corkage: £8.25 per bottle
If you wish to take advantage of this, please select the option when registering and pay the corkage fee at that time.
Accommodation
The hotel has reserved 10 double rooms for the event at a preferential rate of £100.00 per double, inclusive of breakfast.
To reserve a room, please contact the White Hart directly on 01722 327476.
Charity Raffle & Auction
Last year we raised an astonishing amount for Salisbury Hospice and Naomi House, and it is very much our intention to do the same this year. Please put your thinking caps on and see if you can source any suitable raffle or auction prizes. Auction items could range from a meal for two at your favourite restaurant to something more adventurous, such as a glider flight!
To kick-start the fundraising, the White Hart has very generously donated:
- One night’s accommodation in one of their new apartments, with:
- Prosecco and chocolates
- Breakfast in the restaurant
If you have any prize ideas or donations, please contact me directly.
Parking
If you use the hotel car park, please remember to register your vehicle at reception to avoid a hefty fine.
Seating
A seating plan will be displayed at the entrance to the main function room. If you have specific seating preferences, please let me know by private message and I will endeavour to accommodate where possible.
Timings
Full timings and the running order will be circulated closer to the event. For now, please plan for:
- 18:15 hrs – Meet in the bar
- 18:45 hrs – Seated in the main function room
I have asked the White Hart to do what they can to speed up bar service at the start of the evening. If possible, please pay by cash at the bar, as this will significantly reduce delays with card machines.
Registration & Payment
If you wish to attend, please follow the links below to register your attendance, select your menu choice, and—where possible—pay at the time of registration.
